We seek to bring awareness, hope and strength in the Muslimah. To inspire young, faithful women, to give us a face and a place to belong in. By developing an online community that promotes sharing, connectedness and healing through photographically displaying our innermost pain, our secret soul cravings dying to be fulfilled, and watching how faith can save us.
Everyone goes through down times and sadness. However some of us become terminally ill from lasting ‘Stains’ of past Trauma’s. The emotional pain, perhaps physical constrictions tightly gripping our power to move on. Labeled as people with “character defects”, a “disobedient daughter” or a “problematic sister”, a “troublesome child” our communities and muslim familes have a bad habit of stubborn ignorance rather than a desire to connect; almost always out of fear of enlightenment or change.
is it true that a ‘good muslim’ has all the answers? So long as one is a good muslim, with strong Imaan, they should never experience depression or grief? They should never lose hope? never be overcome with problems which dont allow them to continue living happily with the ‘deciosions of Allah and accepting fate’?
Some of us know it, some of us dont, but subconsciously some of us think and feel ‘like something is definitely wrong with me’. and for some of us, there definitely is!
Can we ever erase the ‘Stains’ on our souls? is there a way to live with them?
Is our Imaan not ‘pure’ enough if we go through hopelessness?
I am ill – and I am here to know you, and glue parts of me together on the way.
